Description

6/3/2016 UPDATE: Papillon and Double Wing ears are no longer valid/allowed! Due to some issues they will be swapped out with new types so any previous designs using Papillon ears are ok unless you are fine with us changing them to another ear type, but they will be no longer available or used in future designs. I will update this again once I have the new types ready.

5/23/2016 UPDATE
: edited the long lop and added 6 new ear types!

Finally finished my new species lore and reference sheet! I hope you like them ;w;

Species Name: Velvit (plural: Velvits)

Species Type: Anthro/Humanoid

General Info: Velvits are a highly magical species that depend on their magic to protect themselves. While they have slender bodies and are very agile, they are physically quite weak in terms of strength and therefore must rely on their agility/swiftness and their magic when fighting or defending themselves against enemies. Their tails are usually long and very soft/silky and due to this they are highly coveted by other species, causing them to be hunted often. The tips come in all sorts of shapes but are most commonly in the shape of a bandana or ribbon tip. They have anywhere from 1-6 beads or sometimes 7 or more on their tails and very rarely none(in this case they are very weak(* though there are exceptions) and cannot properly control their magic, and therefore are kept in the protection of stronger Velvits or sometimes die early). The beads can come in any size or shape, most commonly normal round beads. They are decorated with patterns and markings to the owner's preferences. These beads are usually gifted to them by their parents/guardian once they reach a certain age when they must learn to be independent or know how to protect themselves/and or learn magic for other purposes such as jobs and the like. The wealthier/higher status a family is, the more beads a Velvit is likely to be given, and such wealth/status may also be indicated by more complex bead shapes. Those with more beads have stronger magic, although ones with less can still increase their magic potential through diligent practice.

Body Type:
Velvits have humanoid bodies that are usually quite slender, although they can have up to slightly muscular bodies, but never to the point of a body builder. Their heights average a bit smaller than the average human. They have paws for feet and their hands are like those of a human. Their fur and hair are very soft and smooth to the touch and they tend to groom themselves very well.

Floating Tails:
Their tails usually float in the air like a magic carpet and may float higher or lower or even drag on the floor at times depending on their mood. The magic from the beads causes this and therefore the beads have little to no weight when they are on the tail. Tail lengths normally range from half of their body length to up to 1.5 times their body length. Shorter or longer than that is not often seen and most likely impossible. Tails normally range more around half of their body length up to their body length unless they have a lot of beads.

Diet:
They eat anything humans eat.

Lifespan:
Their lifespan is usually similar to a human's but may be shorter or longer depending on the strength of their magic and, of course, luck.

Reproduction:
They can have sex and reproduce just like humans; however, same-sex Velvits cannot reproduce.

Magic/Beads:
Velvits are born with magical potential, but without any beads it is hard for them to keep their magic under control and use it. The beads serve as a source of dispensable magic for use and also keep their magic under their control. The more beads they have, the higher their magical potential/skill. The beads are made of a very hard substance and are not easily broken. Losing one's beads is highly dangerous and will decrease their magical abilities/strength, so they are very protective over their beads. * There are exceptions though where a Velvit without any beads has too much power and cannot keep it under control and are therefore seen as dangerous since they could wreak havoc at any moment.

*Please see sheet above for the different traits and rarities!

If I missed anything or you have questions about the species not written here, feel free to ask!

Velvits are a CLOSED SPECIES by me, please do not make your own without my permission!
I do not claim the idea of anthros, magical species, or beads, etc but the combination of these traits and the lore that make up this species.

Hey, uhm

I'm sorry for the inconvenience but is there still a way to get a myo slot? I know the species is really old but I love the idea and stuff.

Thanks!
